Savisaar has eye surgery ({{commentsTotal}})

The Tallinn Mayor Edgar Savisaar had an eye operation last week, online portal Delfi reported.

According to Delfi, Savisaar’s eye was treated at the East-Central Tallinn Hospital on last Tuesday.

His colleagues from the city government refused to comment on the matter when asked by the portal, but the Center Party press spokesman Taavi Pukk eventually said that Savisaar is on leave.

Savisaar’s long time friend and fellow member of the Center Party Aadu Must, said that the mayor has mentioned some issues with his eye, but nothing too serious.

Savisaar had a life-threatening infection in March, caused by a streptococcus bacteria. To save his life, doctors had to amputate one of his legs. He assumed his duties in charge of the Tallinn City Government in August, while resigning as an MP.
