EU extends Russia sanctions for another 6 months ({{commentsTotal}})

EU foreign ministers decided to extend the sanctions against Russia for another six months.

The bans on 150 companies and individuals were due to expire on September 15, but will now go on until at least March, 2016.

The measures were imposed after Russia annexed the Ukrainian peninsular of Crimea in March, and began to support the conflict in eastern Ukraine with weapons and soldiers.

In June, EU extended sanctions against Crimea, and its largest city, Sevastopol, until Januray, 2016. All imports from the peninsular to the EU are banned, as well as investments made by EU citizens and companies in to the area.
