Ida Viru to organize 24h run ({{commentsTotal}})

A 24-hour run will take place as part of a third annual stadium marathon event in Ida-Viru County in 2016.

The event had already three different type of marathons planned in one day, and a 24-hour-run is a logical development.

Few keen people – a woman and four men have already signed up. One of the five, Mart Maasikrand, ran 190.7 kilometers in a 24-running-event this year. Ragnar Virma, another of the five, ran all three marathon distances at the event this year, racking up 137 kilometers.

The event will take place on June 21 and 22 next year, and will include an evening marathon, a candle-lit night marathon and a morning marathon. A quarter-marathon and distances for youths and children, will also be available.

Registration is open now and participation is limited. Registration for the more popular fields, such as the night marathon, could already be full by the end of the year. Click here for more information.
