The annual Tallinn Christmas market opened on the Town Hall Square on Friday. The market will be open every day from 10:00-19:00 until January 8.

At the heart of the market – apart from Santa and his reindeer – is Estonia's most famous Christmas tree, surrounded by little huts selling handicraft and Estonia food and drink, including Estonian Christmas favorites like sauerkraut (hapukapsas), blood sausages (verivorst) and mulled wine. For the first time, a gourmet hut, selling novel Estonian products, is operating this year.

The lights on the Christmas tree will be turned on Sunday, the First Advent.
