Savisaar camp calls for annulment of Center parliamentary group deputy chairmen vote
Ten members of the Riigikogu belonging to the Center Party's parliamentary group have submitted a petition to the party’s court of honor and leadership to annul the elections of its parliamentary group deputy chairmen.
The reason cited for the petition was the fact that, in their opinion, the deputy chairmen elections were not conducted in accordance with the party’s articles of association and the parliamentary group’s rules of procedure as ratified by the party’s leadership in 2004.
The petition also requested the leadership and court of honor’s official position on whether or not the parliamentary group itself making changes to the its leadership election process immediately prior to the elections was consistent with the party’s documents and principles of democracy.
The petition was signed by MPs Jaanus Karilaid, Siret Kotka, Heimar Lenk, Oudekki Loone, Andrei Novikov, Martin Repinski, Erki Savisaar, Märt Sults, Peeter Ernits, and Marika Tuus-Laul.
