More than half of Estonian residents consider border to be well-protected
While previous data from last fall indicated that Estonian residents did not think that the Estonian border was well-protected, the results of a recent survey conducted by the Estonian Ministry of Defence have indicated that slightly over half of respondents now find that the Estonian border is well-protected after all.
Of the 1,203 Estonian residents polled, four percent said that they considered the border very well protected, and 47 considered it rather well protected. On the other hand, a total of 28 percent of survey respondents found that the border was rather poorly protected and 8 percent found it to be very poorly protected.
Of Estonian-speaking residents, 49 percent found that the border is well-protected, while 43 percent found it poorly protected instead. In comparison, Only 22 percent of Russian-speaking respondents found problems with how the Estonian border is protected today.
The study was conducted by research firm Turu-uuringute AS, who polled 1,203 Estonian- and Russian-speaking residents aged 15 or over.
