Around midday on Thursday, a more unusual type of rescue mission was conducted directly in front of the Lasnamäe City District Government building in Tallinn.

A family of swans needed help in safely crossing the road in order to return to its nesting site on the other side.

While this type of mission is normally the responsibility of the Estonian Environment Agency, this time the swans and cygnets were able to return home safely with the help of an escort by officers from the Tallinn Municipal Police Department.
