The supervisory board of Estonian mail carrier Eesti Post appointed Joona Saluveer the new chairman of the management board on Thursday.

Saluveer's employment contract was concluded for a period of five years; according to an Omniva press release, he will begin work on May 1.

Beginning in 2012, Saluveer worked as head of Omniva's Latvian business unit. Prior to that, he had also worked in Lithuania as head of various Estonian businesses including Prike and Stokker.

Saluveer has a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tartu and a bachelor's degree from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga.

The competition for chairman of the management board of AS Eesti Post was announced as the employment contract of the current chairman of the board, Aavo Kärmas, is set to expire on April 30.
