Ratas on Independence Day: Estonia is our shared home
Speaking on Thursday at Vanemuine Concert Hall in Tartu, Prime Minister Jüri Ratas (Center) called on Estonians to understand that their country could become a better place only if everybody held together, and worked together toward common goals.
“Looking back at events in history and thinking about the present day and tomorrow, we understand how important cooperation, cohesion, and striving toward common goals are,” Ratas said. “Better social cohesion is the only way for us if we want to persist as a state and a nation.”
“Estonia is our shared home in the dearest sense of the word. At home, we need to have a good atmosphere between different family members and communities, but also between all ethnic groups. We need to have a good feeling coming home, and everyone needs to be able to feel good here,” Ratas said.
“It is our joint contribution that has brought us this far, and only acting together can we make Estonia yet a better place to live,” the prime minister added.
