Ex-mayor of Tallinn and former longtime chairman of the Center Party Edgar Savisaar, who is currently on trial in a criminal case, was elected to the board of the party's Lasnamäe division on Monday evening.

Savisaar's election to the position was confirmed to ERR by division chairwoman MP Olga Ivanova.

Approximately 200 party members participated in the Lasnamäe division elections.

Likewise present on Monday night were Prime Minister Jüri Ratas, MEP Yana Toom as well as Tallinn deputy mayor Mihhail Kõlvart.
