Erik Roose elected new chairman of ERR
The council of Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) elected Erik Roose chairman of the board on Wednesday night.
ERR council chairman Agu Uudelepp said that the deciding factor in Roose's favor was his thoroughly analyzed vision, his great deal of experience in managing a media organization as well as his ability to provide employees with good working conditions in a positive atmosphere.
"Those who have previously worked with him confirm that he is a fantastic team player," Uudelepp noted. "This is a quality which the chief of ERR desperately needs."
Roose, a former chairman of the board at daily Postimees, is scheduled to take over as chairman of ERR no later than June 1 of this year, replacing the outgoing Margus Allikmaa; his term is scheduled to last through 2022.
