Six Tallinn-Helsinki route flights canceled due to strike
Finnish carrier Finnair will be canceling nearly 100 flights due to a scheduled strike on Friday, affecting more than 6,000 travelers.
The strike will begin at 3 p.m. and last for four hours. Finnair has confirmed that the airline will suffer millions of euros in losses, reported ERR's television news.
Final figures on economic damage accrued can be calculated once it is clear how many passengers were able to be rerouted.
Three Tallinn-Helsinki flights — at 2:45, 5:25 and 7:30 p.m. — as well as two Helsinki-Tallinn flights — at 2:20, 5:00 and 7:05 p.m. — will be among the flights canceled on Friday.
Aviation employees in Finland rejected labor agreement proposals by the state conciliator as, in their opinion, the agreements favored the employer too much.
Support services, including customer service, catering and baggage service, will also be joining the strike in solidarity.
