Gas prices in Estonia cheaper than usual on Friday
Larger gas station chains in Estonia dropped the prices of gas and diesel alike for just one day at most of their locations.
Gas prices have dropped to €1.087 and diesel prices to €1.077 per liter at most gas stations. In comparison, gas and diesel cost €1.159 and €1.169 per liter, respectively, on Thursday.
Behind the one-day drop in prices is a special deal by fuel distributor Neste in which they are selling fuel at wholesale prices, i.e. the prices paid by major customers at the Neste terminal in Muuga. Drivers can fill up their cars at wholesale prices through midnight on Friday.
Other fuel distributors followed suit, which means that competitors may drop their gas prices even lower.
Neste noted on their homepage, however, that individual and business customer discounts will not apply during the special.
Statoil fuel sales director Meelis Migur confirmed to ERR, however, that card discounts do still apply at their gas stations on Friday.
