Riigikogu reelects Nestor, Eesmaa, Rõivas to board
Riigikogu reelected Eiki Nestor (SDE) President, Enn Eesmaa (Center) First Vice-President and Taavi Rõivas (Reform) Second Vice-President of the Riigikogu in regular board elections on Thursday.
Nestor, who was nominated by the Social Democratic Party (SDE), earned 51 votes in a secret ballot; 22 MPs voted against him.
In the vice-presidential election to follow, Enn Eesmaa (Center) was re-elected First Vice-President and Taavi Rõivas (Reform) Second Vice-President of the Riigikogu with 47 and 34 votes, respectively.
The Riigikogu elected new vice-presidents at the beginning of December following November's change of government as Jüri Ratas, who had been Vice-President of the Riigikogu, became prime minister.
Riigikogu board members' terms of office are one year in length.
