Europe's leading terrorism experts to hold conference in Tallinn
The Estonian capital of Tallinn will on Thursday host a high-level conference on counterterrorism featuring speakers including European Commissioner for the Security Union Julian King and Estonian Minister of the Interior Andres Anvelt.
Other scheduled speakers at the conference, titled "The European Response to Terrorism," will include recognized experts from Belgium, the U.K., France Sweden and Estonia.
The conference will seek answers to questions regarding the major challenges facing security institutions in the next five years and what can be done to prevent radicalization as well as take a look at the greatest successes and lessons in the field, the European Commission representation in Estonia said.
Other speakers at the conference will include Erkki Koort, deputy secretary general of the Estonian Ministry of th Interior, Hans Brun, research fellow at the Swedish Defence University, Richard Chalk, head of the European Strategic Communications Network, Joachim Koops, professor of the Free University of Brussels and dean of Vesalius College, Christer Mattsson, acting director of the Segerstedt Institute at the University of Gothenburg. and Benjamin Oudet, lecturer at the University of Poitiers and Paris Institute of Political Studies.
The conference will be moderated by Kristina Kallas, director of University of Tartu Narva College.
