Ministry suspends Avies' operating license again
Estonia's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications has once again suspended the operating license of the carrier Avies AS.
In order to have its operating license restored, Avies must submit its operating license to the ministry after the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) has restored it, it is stated in the ministerial order of Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Kadri Simson.
On March 2, the CAA suspended the carrier's certificate until the company complies with all necessary requirements.
Avies' last flight took place on April 1, 2016, after which the CAA suspended the company's operating license due to shortcomings. Avies was able to restore its operating license last August and promised to resume flying.
This February, Avies CEO Allan Soll told BNS that the company was planning on restarting the business in a couple of months. Over the past few weeks, however, BNS has been unable to reach Soll anymore.
