Stalker Festival to Fulfill Innermost Desires
The second Stalker Festival, an experimental music and arts event that organizers describe as "retro-futuristic," will be held over the weekend at Tallinn Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel).
Dedicated to Andrei Tarkovsky's film Stalker, one of Estonia's only connections to world cinema classics, the festival will feature performers from over 10 countries.
The film portrays a mystical place known as "the zone" where all desires can be fulfilled. Scenes from the film took place at the Rotermann district, the fish harbor by Linnahall, and the power plant that is now Tallinn Creative Hub.
This year's festival is moved from summer to fall, perhaps a more suitable setting for the industrial-themed festival. Organizers say the festival is going to be a staple of Tallinn Creative Hub's annual calendar.
