The government has approved another five-year term for the secretary general of the economics ministry starting January 27, despite her being under investigation by the intelligence service, KAPO.

Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications Secretary General Marika Priske and Road Administration Director General Tamur Tsäkko were notified of being under KAPO investigation on November 17 in connection with public procurements on two road construction projects.

The government launched disciplinary proceedings against Priske a day later but she was not found at fault. She was suspended and later reinstated. Priske remains a suspect in the criminal case.
