Black Nights Film Festival Named Most Outstanding Tourist Attraction
The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, an undisputed highlight of Estonia's cultural calendar, has won the award for the most outstanding tourist attraction of 2010.
Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves presented the honor to the festival's organizer Tiina Lokk at the Tourest 2011 travel fair on February 18, according to a press release from the Association of Travel Agents, who gave the award.
Kersti Kont, executive director of the association, said that the film festival has grown into one of the most sophisticated and remarkable cultural events in Estonia, mainly thanks to Lokk, who in cooperation with her team also brought the 23rd European Film Awards to Tallinn in December 2010.
