Electricity Supplier Adds Security Measures After Cyber Attack
One of the companies vying for a piece of the soon-to-open electricity market, 220 Energia, was forced to shut down part of its website after being hit by a cyber attack on Tuesday afternoon.
The service was restored on Wednesday. The affected portion of the website facilitated contract signing with private clients.
A police complaint was filed by the company, which said its IT personnel had identified possible sources of the attack. Clients' data are secure, the company said, but it will bolster security features before relaunching, adding the requirement of signing in with a national ID card.
Meanwhile, the part of the website for business clients continued to operate.
