Organizers of the MIT Global Startup Workshop (GSW) have chosen Tallinn to host their next annual conference, to take place in March 2013.

Billed as the world's premier workshop for promoting entrepreneurship, the three-day event typically brings together over 300 entrepreneurs, business executives, academics and financiers.

The decision to hold the 16th annual MIT GSW in Tallinn was made based on an application by Enterprise Estonia, who said that the competition for hosting the event was fierce.

In a release, Enterprise Estonia said that the event would give the country the opportunity to introduce its strong and forward-thinking startup culture to rest of the world as well as give local businesses and universities a chance to establish meaningful international contacts.
