Cost of Clothing Higher Than in 2007
Clothes and footwear cost more in the second quarter than they did during the pre-recession bubble.
Finance Ministry analyst Kristjan Pungas said profit margins were up due to increased consumption and pay raises.
He added that clothes prices in Estonia are seeing one the fastest rates of increase in the EU, reported uudised.err.ee.
Statistics Estonia said on Friday that the yearly price growth rate of 3.6 percent in July increased to 3.8 percent in August.
Inflation in this sector is caused by the increased costs of energy and the end of seasonal discounts, the agency said.
