The largest milk farm in the Baltics, with 2,000 cows under one roof, will be established in Pärnu County in coming months.

Halinga OÜ had previously been spaced out, but is now consolidating its livestock to one farm. Director Raul Peetson said the initiative will require a 6.4-million-euro investment, reported ETV.

Tere, one of Estonia's largest dairy companies, buys 6 percent of its raw milk from Halinga. "There is never enough milk," said Oliver Kruuda, who heads Tere.

The megafarm will mean new jobs for the region. Halinga currently employs 80 people. Its clients, like Tere, are also looking to expand to the foreign market.
