The president of the Southern Taiwan University of Technology, Chien Tai arrived in Estonia May 10, to sign a student exchange and joint research cooperation agreement with the Tallinn University of Technology.

Taiwan can be considered the capital of world electronics, meaning that the cooperation between the institutions will open a completely new perspective for Estonian electronics students who are just entering the information technology industry, stated the announcement by the university.

"Estonian students have not yet had such a high-level opportunity to study and also get to practice as interns in global enterprises," said Andres Keevallik, rector of the tech university.

After signing the agreement, Tai was taken on a tour of the university laboratories, where researchers introduced novel electronic devices designed for the measurement of bioimpedance in chemicals and live tissues.
