Youth Modern Art for Sustainable Change

Preparations for the exhibition are in full swing

Around 800 students between 14 and 19 years of age from 13 countries will exhibit their contemporary art at the youth exhibition Eksperimenta! in Tallinn from April 27 to June 14.
According to the exhibition organizers, the objective is to bring art students and teachers under one roof and initiate sustainable changes in art education.
The youth exhibition is a part of the European Capital of Culture 2011 program and is being held for the first time with the aim of becoming the biggest event devoted to youth contemporary art in the world.
Throughout the event's opening day visitors may take part in interactive exhibitions and watch performances. A group of Lithuanian students will, for example, present their painting machine which can create spontaneous abstract paintings on two-to-five-meter canvases, organizers said.
In addition to Estonia’s neighboring countries, students are also present from South Korea, Iceland, Turkey, Ireland, Portugal and Slovenia.
