Lady Gaga is performing at Tallinn's Song Festival Grounds on August 25, as part of her third world tour - "The Born This Way Ball."

Also performing will be British glam-rock band, the Darkness, and DJ Lady Starlight, a press release from BDG Music said.

Beginning her tour in South Korea this month, Lady Gaga plans to give around 100 concerts around the world.

The diva will perform in Vilnius on August 21, Riga on August 23, Helsinki on August 27, and Stockholm on August 30.

Tickets for the Tallinn gig go on sale on April 30 at Ticketpro.

Known off stage as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, the five-time Grammy winner was named the world's most powerful woman by Forbes magazine last year.

Tix are 69EUR. A dilemma - is it worth that much to see The Darkness as a support band?

They have "The Darkness" as a support band? Isn't this going to be shock for the lush "G-Punkt" clubbers? Maybe worth the money, if you come in right time and manage to escape before it, who is "Born this Way", will turn the event into a "Bad Romance."

Is Lady Gaga thinking her days of popularity are over? Usually a popular foreign music act doesn't play Estonia until they're no longer at their peak of popularity in the rest of the world. For example, the "big names" coming to Estonia in the next few months include Right Said Fred, Sabrina, Alphaville, Megadeth, and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

And what about when Madonna was here, ameeriklane?

@Music - you are correct, Madonna should have been on the list also. @Knut - very droll!

Madonna is a good example that proves my point. She's been off the peak of her popularity for more than a decade. Her peak was in the 80s and 90s. She still sells decently well, but her career is on the wane. For her concert, she flew in a few hours before, did the concert, then immediately flew back to Helsinki. She just wanted to get in, get her money, and get out.

Are you kidding about Madonna? I am not a fan of hers but there is no doubting her continuing success. Who do you think are bigger and more successful than Lady Gaga and Madonna?

Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour when she came round these parts is the most successful tour ever by a solo artist, grossing $408 million and is the second highest grossing tour of all time. Comments?

@@ameeriklane - there is a number of articles on the 'net describing that Madonna's latest album is setting the record for the largest second-week drop in sales in history. 359k -> 46k. Her career, as good as it was, is on a decline. It's a very good point made by Ameeriklane. However, given that Estonian musical tastes are somewhat backwards looking in general, 'old' artists like Madonna et al receive a good welcome here

ameeriklane said she was off her peak and I showed she was AT her peak when she was here. Her sales falling now has nothing to do with her concert appearance here 3 years ago.

High gross sales for a concert tour do not necessarily mean an act is still at their peak of popularity, it could just mean the tickets are expensive. Besides, one boundary case does not mean the original premise is incorrect. Perhaps a better theory would be that most musical acts don't come to Estonia until well after they have produced their best work? In any case, popularity arguments related to Madonna are like arguing about the best way to throw oneself off a cliff.

No one disputes that most performers come here when they are down from their peaks but why can't you and ameeriklane just admit you two screwed up when applying that comment to Madonna instead of trying to spin her status of having the most successful solo tour in history? And Lady Gaga is far, far from being a has been. If you don't agree, I challenge you to prove otherwise.

Madonna is definitely off her peak. I looked up the Billboard Top 100 and she has had 13 songs hit the #1 spot. Of those 13, 1 was in the 2000's or later ("Music", in September 2000), 4 were in the 1990s's and 8 were in the 1980's. So she hasn't hit #1 on the Billboard top 100 in 12 years.

Ok, so that takes care of Madonna. You are right about Lady Gaga, at least - you can't be a Has Been when you are still a Never Was.
