Estonia has reached the level of Finland in the number of registered internet domains it has relative to its population.

Both countries currently have 50 national domains registered per 1,000 inhabitants.

In 2011, Estonia's dot-ee domain saturation passed those of Latvia and Lithuania, where the figure for each currently stands at 43.

Because of the nation's increasing domain registration activity, the Internet Foundation will lower the price of registering a dot-ee domain by 6.5 percent to 17 euros, effective May 1.

"We should definitely make an effort to make a dot-ee domain owned by every person in Estonia actively using their e-mail and the internet," Marek-Andres Kauts, head of the foundation.

"We should definitely make an effort to make a dot-ee domain owned by every person in Estonia actively using their e-mail and the internet,(...)" Estonia is wasting to much time and resources on insignificant issues. How about developing brands, high value-commodities, a knack identifying industrious opportunities, capable workforce, and so on? Not low internet domain costs, but high value commodities would bring in turn produce gigantic margins and translates into better salaries for it's hardworking citizens. Estonia seem to have forgotten that making things, rather than shuffling bits of paper around, is a good way for everybody to make money. Better commit to make high-quality, high-performance, innovative products for which the world will pay extra with the right mix of innovation and national policy. Make stuff that can’t so easily be reproduced elsewhere and take a long-term view on this. The most value you will find in expanding and keep production inside the country, but "actively using their e-mail and the internet" alone, does not create value of any kind. You'll need to know how the tools work in order to generate profitable business through that. But in order to offer something online, you need to actually have something of the sort of value, people are interested to buy.
