Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will begin a two-day state visit to the Republic of Georgia on Tuesday.
During his stay he will meet with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, according to a Estonian Foreign Ministry release issued today.
The officials will discuss bilateral relations, including political and economic relations and cooperation in international organizations. Georgia's cooperation with the EU and and NATO, general developments in Georgia and relations with third countries will also be discussed.
In the release, Paet said Estonia has confirmed its desire to contribute to the development of a democratic Georgia.
"Estonia and Georgia have worked closely to develop and advance a range of topics of interest to Georgia, such as the rule of law and efficient government, as well as educational projects," he said.
On September 8, Paet plans to travel outside the nation's capital Tbilisi to visit several Georgian villages and the city of Gori, which suffered heavy bombing during Georgia's military conflict with Russia in August 2008.
The visit marks Paet's third trip to Georgia since the conflict.
