Host Women Strong at Tallinn Marathon

Locals swept the women's podium in the Tallinn Marathon on Sunday with a trio of sub-three-hour results, while Kenyans took the top two men's spots.
Evelin Talts finished with a time of 2:45.02, putting her 15th overall, followed by Egle Mätas with a time of 2:57.03 (40th) and Liis-Grete Arro (43rd) with 2:59.15.
Kenyan runner John Kipkemoi Kirui was the fastest male runner with a time of 2:15.21, followed by countryman Hosea Kipkemoi Kiplagat with 2:18.57. Defending Estonian half-marathon champ Viljar Vallimäe was third with a new personal record of 2:21.27.
A record 18,000 runners registered for the event, which included the totals for the full marathon as well as a half-marathon and 10K race.
