The Equestrian Federation of Estonia, whose predecessor organization was established on April 12, 1922, is kicking off its 90th anniversary celebrations today, the highlights of which will include an equestrian parade featuring 90 horses and the spectacular Tallinn International Horse Show.

According to the Secretary General of the Equestrian Federation, Siim Nõmmoja, the parade will be a historic undertaking, since it will feature the largest number of horses to be seen on the streets of Tallinn in the last hundred years. "All the Equestrian Federation's member clubs have been invited to participate in the parade, so we are expecting equestrians and horses from all over Estonia. In addition to horseback riders, the parade will also include horse-drawn vehicles," said Nõmmoja.

The parade will start at noon on Saturday, May 12, at the Veskimetsa Riding Center on Paldiski maantee, circle the Old Town within the next hour and a half, and then return to Veskimetsa.

"In addition to the parade, we will hold the next Tallinn International Horse Show in autumn as part of our anniversary celebrations. This event is also celebrating its anniversary this year - it will be the 10th show jumping competition to be held under that name. We can already promise that this year's Horse Show will be even more exciting and entertaining for the audience than last year's,“ said Nõmmoja.
