The Estonian summer is coming to an end. Just a few last weeks left - but there’s still a lot going on. Cinema nights, flea markets, town festivals, concerts, and the mother of all preserve cook-outs are waiting for your visit.
Aparaaditehase Festival (The Widget Factory Festival)

The Widget Factory
This festival in Tartu’s “Aparaaditehas” features music, films, food, and other sorts of entertainment. The line-ups are impressive. Among others, Vaiko Eplik & Eliit will perform, along with some of Estonia’s most notorious DJs.
Film evenings of the Arvo Pärt Centre in 2016

Cinema Sõprus
Arvo Pärt is Estonia’s most well known composer. His music has been part of many films, and this year the Arvo Pärt Centre organizes film evenings at which those films are screened.
Lasnafest 2016

Lasnamäe
Lasnamäe is a Soviet-era new town in Tallinn, most well-known for being predominantly Russian and the Center Party’s political stronghold in the capital. But there’s more to it, the festival tries to make use of the urban qualities of the area and bring in new vibes. Lasnafest’s program consists of an outdoor cinema on three consecutive summer evenings, and an atmospheric picnic with, as they say, the most powerful sound system in Estonia – I-FI Soundsystem.
Day of Disappearing Cinema

Tõstamaa Manor
An event with a provocative title and well-known experts in the field discussing topics surrounding the world of cinema. The program includes film meetings, concerts of film music, film rooms, an open air cinema, and film tours. Follow the event link above for more details.
Kumu Hits. Contemporary Art from the Collection of the Art Museum of Estonia

For one more week you have the chance to see the exhibition of those works that qualify as the museum’s hits and have been selected to celebrate its 10th anniversary. There is a really eclectic and interesting choice of works.

Telliskivi Flea Market Festival

The biggest and most popular flea market of Estonia is turning five this year. Flea market, street food, and performers on two stages. See link for more details.
A Jar Full of Summer 2016

Northern courtyard, Narva Museum
This harvest festival in the northeastern border town of Narva features pickling and canning competitions, where enthusiasts of the art make preserved food from fresh produce in simmering pots following their best secret recipes – savoury preserves on Saturday, and sweet preserves on Sunday.
