Tuesday sees the world premiere of Arvo Pärt and Robert Wilson's musical theatre production "Adam's Passion" at the Noblessner Foundry in Tallinn.

The creators are among the giants in the international music scene and arts. Pärt is one of the most performed contemporary composers of our time, and Wilson is regarded as a giant of contemporary theater and one of the founding figures of avant-garde theater. He has been at the forefront of the global theater arena since his 1976 collaboration with the American composer Philip Glass in "Einstein on the Beach.“

Tõnu Kaljuste, a leading Grammy-awarded international choir and symphonic conductor - and a lifelong close collaborator with Pärt and one of best performers of his works – is also participating, as the musical director and conductor of “Adam’s Passion.”

The musical core of the production consists of three main works by Pärt, selected by the maestro himself: “Adam’s Lament”, “Tabula Rasa” and “Miserere”. “Sequentia”, a new work specially composed by Pärt, will blend the monumental landscape into a powerful story of depths and splendour of the humankind. Wilson’s staging will be a personal reading by the great theatre visionary of the music of the performance, born in close collaboration of two peerless authors.

The international premiere of "Adam's Passion" coincides with Pärt's 80th birthday as well as the 2015 Year of Music in Estonia. The performances will take place at Noblessner Foundry in Tallinn, on May 12-16.

A documentary film and concert recording will also be produced by Accentus Music (Leipzig), ERR (Estonian National Broadcasting Company) and Eesti Kontsert.
