Classical Performances to Saturate Month of April
Marking 17 years of broadcasting, Klassikaraadio, Estonia's only major classical radio station, is celebrating with a host of performances in April.
The program includes seven live-audience studio performances by Resonabilis, Prezioso, Malcolm Lincoln, Weekend Guitar Trio, Talbot, Phlox and students of the Georg Ots music school.
The radio station will also broadcast live concerts by the National Symphony Orchestra, the National Opera's orchestra and choir, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and the Latvija choir. It will also feature the music from the Harpsichord Days and Jazzkaar.
Altogether, the station will be recording 40 concerts in April.
The birthday program will coincide with a special program by the European Broadcasting Union, and Klassikaraadio will broadcast performances from Prague, Amsterdam, Munich, and London.
Listeners can also tune in online to hear live broadcasts of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by the chamber choir Collegium Musicale and Corelli baroque orchestra in in Tallinn's St. John's Church.
