Portrait by Estonian photographer wins prize in London
Birgit Püve's photo of 9-year-old twins Braian and Ryan holding a chicken won third place in prestigious Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize, organized by the National Portrait Gallery in London.
The photo comes from Püve's book on twins and triplets living in Estonia. It was taken at the boys' grandmother's place in Saue, near Tallinn.
The first prize went to fashion photographer David Titlow's photo of his infant son being introduced to a dog.
The second prize was awarded to Jessica Fulford-Dobson, for a picture of an Afghan schoolgirl attending the Skateistan project in Kabul, a scheme providing education, leadership teaching, cultural awareness and skateboarding skills.
The winners, selected form the initial 4,193 submissions entered by 1,793 photographers, were announced on Tuesday.
Top 60 photos can be viewed at the National Portrait Gallery in London from Thursday until February 22.
