New Performing Arts Center to Be Built in North Tallinn
A million euros of state funding is in place over the next seven years for a new multihall theater to be built in the culturally vibrant Kalamaja district.
The Teatrikeskus (Theatre Center) will be set up in the Telliskivi Creative City and be the home stage for nine acting troupes, according to Postimees.
The complex will have two black box spaces that can be connected into one 450-seat hall. There will be a separate hall for dance performances, a rehearsal hall, and, naturally, dressing rooms and other areas.
The playbill will be put together by "curators" on a rotating basis. They will select the productions from concept competitions, the article said.
