Oksanen's 'Purge' Set to Become Film
The bestselling novel Purge, by the Finnish writer Sofi Oksanen, recently chosen as the first foreign novel to win the Fnac book award in France, will be made into a film scheduled to premiere in 2012.
The screen rights belong to the Finnish company Solar Films, and the film will be produced by Markus Selin. The screenwriter is Marko Leino, who wrote the script for the 2006 Finnish film Matti: Hell is for Heroes, based on the life of the controversial Finnish ski jumper Matti Nykänen.
