Tali Named Conductor of Orchestra in Florida
Conductor Anu Tali has been named the musical director of the Sarasota Orchestra.
She will take up the baton on August 1 under a three-year contract, menu.err.ee reported based on a story in the Sarasota Herald Tribune. Her first full season will be 2014-2015. She will also continue leading the Nordic Symphony Orchestra.
"She is charismatic, brilliant, energetic," Joseph McKenna, president and CEO of the orchestra, said in the Herald Tribune.
Tali, a youthful 40 with no small amount of Nordic chic, was hailed in the city's press for a 2011 guest performance where she "wowed" audiences as well as for a return engagement this year.
