Kokamägi Exhibition Begins Italian Tour
An exhibition of paintings by Epp Maria Kokamägi - one of Estonia’s most renowned artists - has opened in Genoa, Italy.
The February 28 opening was part of an Estonian Independance Day program organized by the Estonian Honorary Consulate in Genoa and the nation's embassy in Rome.
The exhibition will tour Italy throughout the year, visiting cities such as Milan, Florence, Cagliari, Bari and Venice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Kokamägi's exhibition comprises 28 paintings that give an overview of her work between 2009 and 2012. Eight of her newest creations were painted in January specifically for the Italian tour.
Born into a creative family in 1959, Kokamägi graduated from the State Art Institute's department of painting in 1983 and became a member of the Artists' Association a year later.
Prolific in oil and watercolor painting, she has also illustrated a number of books and worked with theatre and film design.
