Baltic States Invited to Headline London Book Fair in 2018
Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have been invited to be the Market Focus countries at the London Book Fair in 2018, gaining an important outlet for introducing their culture and literature.
The Market Focus initiative was introduced in 2004 and is aimed at creating commercial and cultural connections around the world, with a specific focus on the writers and publishers of the main guest, kultuur.err.ee reported today.
The London Book Fair was founded in 1971 and is one of the most important book fairs in Europe after the Frankfurt Book Fair. This year's main guest is South Korea. Previous guests have included Turkey, China and Russia.
Estonia is also represented at this year's fair, taking place on April 8-10, with a shared stand of the Estonian Literature Center and the Estonian Publishers' Association.
