The 9th annual Tartu Love Film Festival, or tARTuFF, which bills itself as the largest open-air cinema in the Baltic countries, opens today with 12 different movies on tap through Saturday.

The Town Hall Square will be covered with approximately 1,600 seats and a large screen for the viewings, which will start at about sunset.

The festival bills the event as including "12 very different movies which include great emotions, reinvention, yearning and warm recognition. The one common thing is of course, love."

There is also a festival stage where several events are planned, and workshops and DJs will open each day's festivities. Also billed as attractions for the week are a festival library, speed dating, and the festival party. Some viewings will take place at Tartu's Electric Theater.

Tonight's showing is the American comedy Begin Again, which starts at 22:15, and stars Keira Knightley and Adam Levine.

All the events on festival stage and on the Town Hall Square are free. You can find the full schedule of films here, or go to the festival's Facebook event page.
