Art on screen at the Kumu Art Film Festival
Following the success of last year’s event, the Kumu Art Film Festival (KuFF) is returning for a second time to the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn. This exciting new festival explores the relationship between art and film and is the only culture event of its kind to do so in Estonia.
KuFF's program for this year includes four days of film screenings, artist talks and workshops where the filmmakers are all connected in some way to the visual arts. The films selected for the festival detail the relationship their respective filmmakers have with the arts and the internal workings and diversity of the industry. Their stories are told via documentaries, experimental films and a focus on one author or archive specifically.
In addition to the program of film screenings, Christopher Gorski will be leading a workshop on the medium of Super 8mm film. Two screenings from "Moving Pictures: Artists’ Films from the Film London Jarman Award" will be featured in the festival's program this year as well; the award was curated by the British Council and Film London and the inclusion of these films in the program is part of KuFF’s ongoing collaboration with the Short Film Festival Oberhausen and Fundacja ARTon.
KuFF will screen in the Kumu Auditorium in Tallinn from Thursday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 2. Further information is available on the KuFF homepage.
