Where did all the euros go?
The Museum of Estonian Architecture opened its “Where did all the euros go?” exhibition on Wednesday. It looks at the different projects funded with contributions by the European Union between 2006 and 2015.
The exhibition introduces renovation projects, new buildings, additions to Estonia’s architectural landscape in cities as well as in the countryside, from Ida-Viru County to Saaremaa.
Curator of the exhibition Karin Bachmann said to ETV’s “Ringvaade” that they had considered the quality of the different projects, and how they fit in with their surroundings. How the buildings had been received also played into their selection.
Through Enterprise Estonia the renovation of different schools was funded, kindergartens were extended, and leisure areas built. Of particular influence were projects where museums and visitor centers had been supported.
The exhibition covers ten objects that are introduced to visitors by means of audiovisual materials as well as literary texts.
“Where did all the euros go?” is open until Oct. 30, 2016. The Museum of Estonian Architecture is located in the Rotermanni Salt Storage in Tallinn’s Ahtri street. For more information, visit the museum’s website.
