Ministry of Culture offers grants to expatriate organizations & national minorities
The Estonian Ministry of Culture has announced the 2015 call for applications for financial support to the cultural organizations of expatriate Estonians and national minorities.
The aim of the expatriate Estonians grant program is to support the cultural projects of Estonians living abroad, in order to ensure the preservation of Estonian language and culture in the diaspora communities, and to facilitate contacts between expatriate and local Estonians.
Support is provided for having expatriates organize cultural events, festivals and educational programs, as well as networking between representatives of the Estonian communities. Further training for conductors of choirs and instructors of dance groups, who wish to participate in major Estonian cultural events, will also be funded.
Further information and application forms (in Estonian) can be found here. The deadline for the applications is December 15.
The Ministry is also expecting grant applications from national minorities. The grants aim to ensure the protection and development of minority cultures in Estonia.
The grants will fund events, festivals and further education in the fields of culture and education. One can also apply for funding for cooperation between minority and Estonian cultural organizations, as well as for raising awareness and translation projects.
NGOs, foundations, local municipalities and self-employed individuals are all eligible for the support.
More information can be found here. The deadline for the national minorities grants is December 18.
