Estonian Literary Magazine Publishes Fresh Issue
The spring edition of Estonian Literary Magazine, available in English, has been published.
The issue leads off with a feature of writer Sven Sildnik, who has run the publishing house Jumalikud Ilmutused (Divine Revelations), which has published around 50 books.
That is followed by an interview with researcher Jüri Talvet, who published "Poetry of Juhan Liiv." The magazine presents a selection of Liiv’s poems as well.
There is some modern poetry by Maarja Pärtna, including an interview with the author.
Sirje Olesk tackles the topic of Russians in Estonia, focusing on one of the most popular books of recent years, "The Passion of Sillamäe" by Andrei Hvostov.
Ilmar Lehtpere briefly introduces Kristiina Ehin's new book "1001 Winters."
The magazine also features short reviews of recent Estonian books, and a list of all of the Estonian literature that was published in foreign languages in 2012 (42 texts in 13 languages).
Established by the Estonian Institute in 1995, the Estonian Literary Magazine is published each spring and autumn.
