Der Tank, Leo Burnett Affiliate and Utopia Win Big at Golden Egg Ad Awards
The Golden Egg advertising awards celebrated their 15th anniversary on Monday, handing out a record number of ‘Eggs.’
Organized since 1998 by the Association of Advertising Agencies, awards were handed out in 33 categories including Best App and Best Social Media Campaign, said the association’s website (results and clips here).
New categories in 2013 included Ad Agency of the Year and Best Client in Digital Media, which was won by the Office of the President.
The year’s big winners were ad agency Der Tank (Ad Agency of the Year 2013), Kontuur LB for their commercial for Rahva Raamat - the company was rebranded as the successor of similarly named companies, suggesting that it 100 years old - and agency Utopia for their promotion of Tele2.
A total of 80 Eggs were handed out, including 18 Golden Eggs and 25 Silver Eggs.
President of the association Rein Iida told ERR radio that ads are increasingly forcing themselves into people’s interactions. “For example, if people go to a shopping mall, there are many of them there and marketers will want to be there. If people have mobile phones in their pockets, a marketing person will also be there. Marketers will try to use all mediums that can elbow into interaction between people."
Iida said that advertisers are trying more and more to relay a message to people that they should not kill themselves with work, but should enjoy culture and life instead, and try to find some time for themselves.
