NOAR.eu, a new online environment focusing on Estonian contemporary art will see a public launch on May 15 with a large-scale happening at Tallinn's Freedom Square. Prominent painters as well as street artists are set to compose and create works on four large walls mounted for the occasion.

The happening comes as a result of lengthy preparations, culminating in a grand finale in front of a live audience.

Works of art will be composed on the spot by painters Maarit Murka, Laurentsius and Mall Nukke, with street artists Bach Babach, Sim Kares as well as anonymous authors of prominent urban artworks slated to perform. The works will eventually be made available for viewing and purchase online at NOAR.eu.

NOAR.eu seeks to fill a gap on the Estonian art scene in providing an accessible online overview of works from professional Estonian artists. A first-ever collaboration, all major Estonian art organizations are involved, including the Estonian Artists' Association, Tartu Artists' Association, Estonian Contemporary Art Development Center and Tallinn Art Hall among others.

The project features a number of more prominent figures on the Estonian art scene like Ado Lill, Raoul Kurvitz and Jüri Arrak, as well as rising talents such as Katrin Piile and Kaarel Kütas.

“We're bringing Estonian art to a wider audience, with our sights set towards neighboring countries. We offer a constantly updated selection of artists, photographs of works and in-room views for assessing scale. To allow for a wider potential in investing towards art, there's the possibility to pay in installments,“ commented NOAR founder Andra Orn.
