Urmas Vadi’s play takes a new approach to Raja Teele from "Spring," Tiina from "Werewolf," the colonel’s widow and several other well-known archetypical heroines from Estonian literature. We are given a chance to see and hear about the lives they have been living and what they think about their lives today.
Tuesday, Nov. 1 - Sunday, Nov. 7
Various venues, Tallinn
Lots of great restaurants are inviting you to come enjoy some great food and have a great time. The best source of information in this case is the menus themselves.
Wednesday, Nov. 2
Theatre Vanemuine, Tartu
Choreographer and stage director Giorgio Madia approaches Don Juan as a figure of "Theater." Not only the female "victims" of the seducer but also his audience succumb to the cold-blooded interplay between illusion and imagination. The passion he celebrates is actually that of his viewers, and his libertine practices captivate as they disrespect moral, social, intellectual and religious rules.
Kumu Documentary: "Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures"
Kumu Auditorium, Tallinn
He was a catalyst and an illuminator, but also a magnet for scandal. From an early age, Robert Mapplethorpe had but one goal, which he single-mindedly pursued: to "make it" not just as an artist but also as an art celebrity. He could not have picked a better time: it was the Manhattan of Any Warhol’s Factory, of Studio 54 and, following the Stonewall riots, an era of unbridled hedonistic sexuality.
Friday, Nov. 4 - Saturday, Nov. 12
Tallinn International Piano Festival
Various venues, Tallinn
Tallinn International Piano Festival is a unique piano week. The festival attracts the greatest number of visitors of any festival of classics in Estonia, making it a prestigious event at which to perform. The festival has a special aura and is an attraction that draws a large audience from many neighbouring countries.
