Although the summer has suddenly heated up on the real-life counterintelligence front, fans of secret operative adventure video games may also be pleased to learn that the latest installment of a critically acclaimed video game will be partially set in Estonia.

"Blacklist," the sixth installment of "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell," a popular series of action adventure video games, features operative Sam Fisher, now working for the US government to combat terrorists.

The action will shift to Pihtla municipality on Saaremaa, Delfi's Forte site reported today.

Fans of the series and Estonian cultural reference spotters will have to wait until August 23, the European release date, to find out exactly what the tie-in is - cyber defense, NSA data warehouse, or an X-files turn? Among various claims to fame, Pihtla is known as the home of a potent home-brewed beer now commercially available, a 13th century church, and perhaps most intriguingly, the Kaali meteorite craters.
