The Cardigans and Placebo to headline Õllesummer
This year's beer fest Õllesummer will be headlined by Swedish rock band The Cardigans, with performances also by Placebo and an array of Estonian stars and starlets. Õllesummer will take place at Tallinn's Song Festival Grounds from July 1-4.
A total of more than 100 artists will perform on Õllesummer’s seven stages. The wide selection of different musical styles includes pop and rock, jazz and club, as well as alternative music.
The festival will be kick-started by English alternative rock sensation Placebo on July 1. The band has to date released seven albums and sold over 11 million records worldwide.
The Cardigans will take to the stage on July 4. The band was formed in Sweden in 1992 and has retained its original membership to this day. It rose to fame in the second half of the 90s with hits like LoveFool, My Favorite Game, Erase/Rewind, and Carnival.
Õllesummer, the biggest open-air festival in the region, has previously welcomed international stars like Franz Ferdinand, Moby, Calvin Harris, MIKA, Manic Street Preachers, Pet Shop Boys, Bastille, and Hurts, among others.
The festival is usually attended by around 60,000-80.000 beer and music fans every year. The festival was established in early 1990s.
