The Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) told the ESCtoday website that Estonia will participate in the 2015 Eurovision song contest in Vienna.

“This is one of the few really international promotional opportunities for a small country,” Mart Normet, head of the entertainment department of Estonian Television, told menu.err.ee.

Estonia is the tenth country to confirm its participation in the next year’s contest.

Information on the qualifying competition Eesti Laul will soon be published and Normet said that some of the deadlines can be moved up.

Estonia was represented at this year’s Eurovision, held in Copenhagen, by Tanja Mihhailova, who placed 12th in the first semifinal and failed to qualify for the final contest.

After the Austrian singer Conchita Wurst won this year’s event, the contest will be held in Vienna on May 12, May 14 and May 16 next year.

Estonia has taken part in the competition since 1993, although missing out in 1995, winning once (in 2001), and coming third in 2003. The nation has competed in 21 competitions, failing to reach the final round on eight occasions.
